"Charles Dimler was born at Shakapee, Minn., Feb. 13, 1860, coming to this city with his parents in 1870, a lad of 10 years. Four years ago he left for Sylvan Grove, where he has since made his home, handling threshing, well drilling, and shelling crews. He purchased some lots and did considerable horse trading. A tireless worker, jovial and good natured, Charley won friends easily in his new home and retained the many old ones he had here. All his life he was stout and hearty, save for an attack of rheumatism which compelled him to spend a month at Hot Springs late last fall. About eighteen years ago, Charley was marshal of this city.
"He leaves three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Seikel, Dale, Okla.; Michael, of this city; John, of Devall's Bluff, Ark.; and George, in Arizona last heard from."
