Can You Identify This Seed Corn Grader?

Let's play the name game!

 Name this corn grader!

Name this corn grader

Farm Collector received these photos of a corn grader and the following letter from reader Harry Roland:

"I am restoring this seed corn grader, and need information about what the name is. The letters that can be distinguished read O - - I - N S. The middle letter could be an E, H or K. This device could be about 100 years old. I hope someone can help in its identification."

Do you know what the name is? If you do, leave a comment below or contact Mr. Roland at dhroland@windstream.net

Identify This Mystery Antique Engine

engine 1

Gas Engine Magazine reader Kevin Stier recently sent in these two photos of a mystery air-cooled engine he bought at auction. He's searched high and low for identifying features but has come up empty. Do you have any ideas as to what this antique engine might be? Post your ideas in the comment section below.

Proper Drip Rate for an Oiler

oiler

This week's Old Iron Question comes to us from John Petty, who would like to know the following:

"Could you tell me how many drops of oil from a drip oiler should drop on a piston per minute on a 2 HP hit-and-miss engine at idle?"

If you can help John, post your response in the comment section below.

Do you have a question about an antique tractor, engine or piece of farm equipment that you'd like to ask the old iron collecting community? If so, send your question and any related photos to Associate Editor Christian Williams and we'll post your question in this blog.
