I read with interest the editor’s column in the March 2010 Farm Collector about the farmer’s pocket ledger. I have one like it, only mine is the 81st annual edition dated 1947-48. The John Deere dealer gave it to my dad in 1948 when he bought a new John Deere Model B tractor. It’s hard to believe in 1948 a new Model B cost $1,100 (about $9,800 in today’s terms).
