John Bower bought this horse-drawn 2-row corn planter. "Flying Dutchman No. 2 variable drop" is printed on the seed cans. He is looking for information about it.

I recently purchased a horse-drawn 2-row corn planter. “Flying Dutchman No. 2 variable drop” is printed on the seed cans. It is a check-row planter. I wondered if anyone has heard of this company or knows any history of the company. I also would like to find an owner’s manual.

Editor’s note: The Moline (Ill.) Plow Co. bought rights to produce the Flying Dutchman sulky plow in 1884; the Flying Dutchman corn planter is an extension of that trade name.
