Tired of being just a steam engine spectator? Seven steam schools in 2014 will offer training that will allow you to take part in the fun or enhance your existing skills.

Steam schools offer hands-on experience as well as classroom instruction from experienced steam engineers dedicated to instilling lessons in safe operation and maintenance of steam engines. This is your chance to help carry on an exciting tradition of yesteryear. There are tubes to be cleaned, whistles to be blown, diplomas to be earned and more. But be sure to register early — courses tend to fill quickly. FC
