Titusuille, PA 16354

This was the 19th annual Pioneer Gas & Steam Engine Society
Show, at Meadville Fairgrounds, Meadville, Pa. The show is usually
the third weekend of July. Set up starts the first of the week,
with boiler inspection on Tuesday.

Looking down the belt towards the portable sawmill. Sawdust can
be seen coming from the shoot, over top of the saw bed. The logs
were about 10′ long and 16′ in diameter.

Known as E. A. Testo’s Cannon Ball, owner E. A. Testo of
Fairview, Pa. The Cannon Ball was built about twenty years ago as a
showpiece. It has a Port Huron 20 HP boiler and an 18 HP Gaar Scott
engine. Weight is 18,000 pounds, the unit was built on a truck
frame. It was driven by Todd Zuck and may soon be retired.

A Minneapolis-Moline owned by Glen and Connie Peterman of
Hadley, Pa. Original owners were Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Essert. It was
originally built as a tractor car and is as it came from the
factory. Only 150 were built and 80 are known to be left in
existence.

Among the engines not pictured are a 20 HP Buffalo Pitts owned
by Howard van Driest of Painsville, Ohio; an M Rumely 20 HP steam
engine owned by Blake Halhamaki, also of Painsville, the A. B.
Farquhar owned by Morgan Hill of Linesville, Pa., and many
others.

There were also small tractors, small gas engines and antique
cars. In addition to the July show, the club also holds a show at
the Drakeswell Memorial Park in September.
