Yellow Fever: Cub Cadet Garden Tractors

Cub Cadet marketing material targeting suburban women

Consistently, our most popular articles on FarmCollector.com have a central theme: garden tractors. More specifically, International Harvester Cub Cadets and Cubettes.

Back in April 2004, our friend Oscar H. Will III (who is now the editor of our sister publication, Grit) wrote an in-depth article about the history of the Cub Cadet, its implements and even included some great resources. He followed with a two-part, very detailed explanation of a Cub Cadet restoration. It is a must read for anyone considering taking on the task of restoring a Cub Cadet, or any Cub Cadet fan.

Cub Cadet Model 100

In 2008, Mr. Will solidified his garden tractor expert reputation by releasing a book Garden Tractors: Deere, Cub Cadet, and All the Rest. It’s full of great photos (new and old, like the one at the top that I love) that outline the garden tractor’s history and brands.
