The highly anticipated vintage tractor auction — Mecum Auctions’ Gone Farmin’ Spring Classic — kicks off the 2016 season at the Mississippi Valley Fair Center in Davenport, Iowa, March 31-April 2. This event is set to offer more than 300 tractors from across the country.
The Spring Classic will debut several exclusive collections, including a lineup of 12 tractors from the Cass and Hyler John Deere Collection. Headlining the event will be Cass and Hyler’s 1935 John Deere DI (Lot S42), which is first of the model (D Industrial) and first of its category (Industrial). Another feature lot is their 1958 John Deere 720 Diesel Electric Start (Lot S40).
Vintage tractor enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to bid on tractors from the Jim and Lois King Collection. This collection includes 13 meticulously restored Farmalls, including a 1957 Farmall 350 Diesel (Lot S16). Another collection to keep an eye on is the Jeff Hammen International Farmall Collection that offers 14 International Farmalls with no reserves. The highlight of this collection is the 1965 International 1206 Wheatland (Lot S106). This iron powerhouse is complete with a full three-point with top link, PTO and new 24.5×30 rear tires.

Along with an extraordinary selection of tractors crossing the block on Friday and Saturday, the event will also feature a literature auction on Thursday and a compilation of more than 300 signs and farm relics, including the Southern Pedal Tractor Collection and Andy’s Alabama Engine Collection, on Friday following the tractors.
“We’re ready to return to Davenport for the Spring Classic auction with one of the best lineups of tractors we’ve ever offered,” says Dan Mecum, founder and president of Mecum Auctions’ Gone Farmin’ division. “It’s really an honor to have the opportunity to bring such fine collections and individual tractors to the market, some of which rarely ever surface for sale.”
