The Molly Caren Agricultural Center, home to the Farm Science Review, was one of two host sites for the “John Deere: Ag & Turf New Product Intro 2013,” which was held Aug. 12-23 in the Columbus, Ohio, area, revealing the company’s newest agricultural equipment and technology.
While more formal product introductions were held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the grounds of the Molly Caren Ag Center were used for comprehensive field demonstrations, allowing participants to use and test the capabilities of the new farm machinery firsthand.
Overall, approximately 4,800 participants attended the product launch, including John Deere employees and dealers and the ag media.
“We were honored to host John Deere’s new product introductions at the Molly Caren Ag Center this year,” said Chuck Gamble, Farm Science Review manager. “We are big proponents of the value that field demonstrations bring to any event, and in particular, the Farm Science Review.”
The Farm Science Review will host its own set of field demonstrations when the 51st annual farm show takes place Sept. 17-19. Among the scheduled demonstrations are corn and soybean harvest, field drainage installation and the first-ever flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at a farm show.
“Needless to say, we are very excited about our field demonstrations this year,” Gamble said. “Not only will the UAV demonstration be a first, we’re also on track to harvest the best crops ever during the show.”
