Perhaps it's a wrench for Caterpillar tracks

Regarding Paul Short’s letter in the October 2009 issue of Farm Collector, the wrench looks like one we used to turn the adjusting nut on tracks of D7 and D8 Caterpillars. Sometimes we put a 6-foot piece of pipe over the handle for more leverage.
