Joseph who died in 1980. Ralph is survived by a brother Paul, a

After graduating from high school, Ralph became a railroad steam
locomotive machinist for the B&O Railroad, rising to master
mechanic. He was superintendent of machinery, for Basic Inc.,
Bettsville, Ohio for 47 years.
Ralph was an avid steam fan. He attended the very first meeting
of the National Threshers Reunion in 1944 and attended the show
every year until 1993 when ill health kept him away. My uncle Ralph
took me to the steam shows at Wauseon, Ohio, when I was a teenager,
shared his great knowledge of steam with me, and gave me advice on
the steam projects that I have built.
Ralph will be missed by his family and his fellow steam
fans.
