On November 11 the threshermen were invited to Ollie
Knepper’s Club House for a great get-together. The party gets
started after 11 o’clock. We pay our respect to the Veterans of
all Wars, first.
George Bahre’s Rumely is all steamed up and belted to the
is also gotten under way kraut and sausages with all the trimmings.
Lot of story telling is also going on as checking over things that
happened during the year. Also making plans for next year’s
show.
Then the call all were waiting for ‘Come, Dinner’s
ready!’ It was enjoyed by all. After the dishes were washed and
house cleaned we all went out for some pictures. The Rumely was
spinning the fan again. Some of the boys had Walter’s Case
belted to a separator for a last spin. Then some one gave the
whistle a couple of good blows and then F ed Beck and George Bahre
took the Rumely around the club house to the shed, backed it in its
stall. At 2:30 the steam valve was closed for the year of 1970.
Everybody went inside for some refreshments.
