As I have always enjoyed the pictures of the old models of
machinery I am sending you a picture of a Pitts Model of Endless
Apron Thresher that was made in Dayton, Ohio, and shown on the Ohio
State Fair Ground in 1865. This picture was taken from a page of
the Ohio Agricultural Year Book of 1865the same book from which the
appeared in the Album some time ago. I don’t know whether this
firm had any connection with the original Pitts Co. of Buffalo, New
York, or not — perhaps some of the Album readers could tell us. As
far as I know this was the only threshing machinery ever made in
Dayton, Ohio.
