In a 1913 Russell & Company catalog (No. 71), we found this illustration of a Russell engine with locomotive engineer's cab. 'It is built in the most substantial manner of thoroughly seasoned lumber, the frame mortised and tenoned and bolted together. The sides and front are of matched lumber and the openings in front and side fitted with sash and windows and all finished in the most tasteful manner.'
