This is a 1922 model 65 HP Case steam engine, serial number 35,400. It underwent a complete restoration in 1982. It has all new flues, all new plumbing, canopy, jacket and a new paint job.

This engine carries a 150 lb. Nebraska inspection certificate and runs in perfection. It is a joy to operate. It is owned by the Loren Wendelin family of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska 68423.

SCENES FROM ANTIQUE ACRES The pictures above were taken in August of 1983 at Antique Acres in Cedar Falls, Iowa and were sent to us by Randy E. Schwerin.

This little Frick engine, owned by Harvey S. Hoffman, 17705 South Western Avenue, Gardena, California 90248, is a model of the 9X10 engine he spent much time on as a boy. The model was made from memory and a few pictures. Harvey says that the model sits on a table by his reclining chair and hardly a day goes by that he doesn't look at it and reminisce on some part of his life with the original engine.

Pictured is our Rumely clover huller and 1927 17-30 Minneapolis cross-motor tractor in action, October 1982. We baled the second crop clover for better handling. I bought the tractor from the original owner in 1960. I am standing by the machine. On the load are brother-in-law Donald Bray and nephew Ken Gomall.

Several 110 HP Case steam engine owners gathered for this picture at the 30th reunion of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers, Sept. 3,1983, at Rollag, MN. Standing from left to right are: Kevin Anderson, Andover, SD; Mark Pedersen, Luverne, ND; Jim Briden, Fargo, ND; Norman Pross, Luverne, ND; Jack Fritcher, Riceville, IA; Ray Smolik, Osage, 1A; Ed Smolik, Osage, IA; Harold Ottaway, Wichita, KS; Clarence Young, Great Falls, MT; Dennis Powers, Ogden, IA; Jack Beamish, Hamiota, Manitoba; Junior Christian, New Carlisle, OH; Danny Roen, Comstock, MN. The engine in the background is owned by Norman Pross and Jim Briden. It is a 1913 model, which they restored beginning in 1976 and steaming for the first time in May, 1981. The engine in one of the main attractions at the reunion and is kept busy with many activities during the day, the highlight being the steam plowing demonstrations using a restored 14 bottom John Deere Plow. This photo was taken and is submitted by Kee W. Groshong, 402 Thilly, Columbia, MO 65201.
