Larry Nelson of RR #3, Box 402B, Muscatine, Iowa 52761 owns the
18 HP 1905 double cylinder Colean on the cover. The engine was
built in Peoria, Illinois, and Nelson is always looking for other
Colean she knows of only 3, a 25 HP and two 30 HPs. His research
shows that Colean built only 4 sizes: 15,18,25 and 30 and that the
15 HP was built only for 2 or 3 years, with 500-600 total engines

A new feature at the Pawnee, OK Steam and Gas Engine Show this
year was the running of this 2-4-0 Porter narrow gauge engine and
two cars. More than 5,000 people purchased tickets to ride during
the three day event the first weekend in May. Shown, left to right,

The Santa Fe Railway donated nearly a mile of track for the line
that circles Steam Engine Park in Pawnee, site of the annual

A scale 1915 Case steam engine built by Raymond April of Oconto
Falls, Wisconsin in 1976. Plans, boiler and castings came from Tom
Terning. The photo was taken at a family reunion in June 1986, with
the owner sitting on the engine and blowing the whistle.

Arthur Clark of 5437 Capitan Ave., Sarasota, FL 33580 has been
working on this Case model for twelve years. Clark reports that the
model is 4 inch scale, that the boiler came from Tom Terning and
the castings from Wm Andres.
