Gordon Hume, treasurer of the Ontario Steam & Antique
Preservers Association in Milton, Ontario, Canada, sent this photo,
saying, ‘Thought you might be interested in this picture of a
500 HP Ruston Homsby engine owned by Walter Deadman. It’s the
winner of Best Restored Engine Over 3 HP at our 1992 Steam-Era
show, held Labour Day weekend. Look closely at the picture and you
Andrew Wahl, Rt. 1, 522 North St., Brandon, Wisconsin 53919,
sent this photograph of his son Mike operating their recently
purchased 1922 Model K 15 HP Farquhar engine. The picture was taken
at the Pickett, Wisconsin, Steam and Gas Engine Show in September
1992.
This early 1920s Frick Eclipse, owned by Menno F. Stoltzfus, is
pictured hard at work steaming tobacco beds on a farm just outside
Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Stoltzfus bought the 8 x 10 inch bore and
stroke engine in working order in 1991. Prior to Stoltzfus’
ownership, the engine had spent some time at Williams Grove and at
Rough & Tumble, Kinzers. Photo taken in the spring of 1992 by

Aveling & Porter 4 NHP, Works No. 11969, built in 1927,
shown on display at the 1992 Great Dorset Steam Fair. For more on
