Our 17th Annual Antique Tractor & Steam Show was held at Berthusen Park in Lynden, Washington between August 3rd and 6th, 1988.

The featured tractors in 1988 were Allis-Chalmers. It was pleasant to have an A-C 75 HP generator being restored on the grounds during the show. (It still needs brushes, and it takes too much steam for the existing boiler, but it was running before the end of the show.)

This rotating field generator (277 r.p.m.) produces 440 volts A.C. at 60 cycles, and was in its day the standby power plant for a sawmill in Corvallis, Oregon.

The 75 HP VIM engine shown ran a fish cannery in Alaska during its working life.

Other machinery, in operation during the show, included two small sawmills, one with a high-lead, the other with a planer to finish wood, as well as two buzz saws to keep the steamers happy.
