From: Mason-Dixon Historical Society
An announcement was made this week of an arrangement whereby
future shows starting in September 1967 of the Mason-Dixon Steam
Historical Society will be held at the Carroll County Farm Museum.
The announcement was made by Elmer P. Pfoutz, Chairman of the Board
Steam Society.
Mr. Leiphart stated that previous yearly shows have been held at
the Leppo Farm in Greenmount and that the 1967 event would be at
the Farm on September 7, 8, 9, and 10. He noted that the Steam Show
should also be a drawing card for the Farm Museum which is planned
to reopen its doors on April 15.
Plans call for the Steam Society after the current year to hold
both a spring and a fall show. The Museum is permitting the Society
to construct a building in the Museum complex to house equipment
that members of the Society desire to leave at the Farm Museum for
display purposes and use during regular craft days.
The Board of Governors of the Farm Museum had been indeed
fortunate to add another historical aspect to its already popular
program according to Chairman Pfoutz. We welcome the members of the
Mason-Dixon Society and hope that we have many years of pleasant
association, he added.
