With the toot of the whistles and the chug of the steam engine in the parade, the spectators know that the Farmers and Thresherman's Jubilee is well under way for another year. This year was our Silver Anniversary, which took place September 8, 9, 10, 1977. With our 20 steam engines and gas engines, tractors and plenty of old equipment, and with over 12,000 people attending. They came from the states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Nevada and Missouri.

The weather was the nicest in a number of years. Added attractions this year were corn shelling, cleaning grain with a windmill, making handles, sawing with a powered cross cut saw and getting the Fairbanks Morris engine running. One of the most interesting demonstrations was the little sawmill, which consisted of a sawmill 1/8 scale Wood Tabor and Morris, four wheel drive engine which was new at the Jubilee this year.

Other pieces which were added since last year were a 1/2 scale and a 1/3 scale 'Peerless' model. Also on display were a 50 HP Peerless, Farquhar stationary, Rumely Oil Pull, and an Osborn grain binder. At the Jubilee we had nice concessions, featuring handmade jewelry, bonnets, quilts, paintings, flower arrangements, and a country kitchen. People who like modern things are also included by having displays of snowmobiles, garden tractors, and modern kitchen appliances. We had tractor pulling also. Next year we are planning to add different crafts. We encourage all hobbies is to bring their models and invite all to join in on the fun and excitement of the 26th Anniversary to be held . September 7, 8, 9, 1978.
