The lure of steam gets big attention in this South Dakota 1979
Calendar of Events, as you can see in upper right corner.
Both steam and gas are featured in the listings, with a show at
DeSmet and a threshing bee at Sturgis. No doubt the engines are
highly visible at many other events playing up farm and pioneer
spirit.
Rallies, meets, shows and thresherees are getting more and more
notice as their numbers increase and the crowds get bigger. We are
trying to publicize these events nationally, through our annual
Steam and Gas Show Directory, as well as through IRON-MEN ALBUM and
GAS ENGINE MAGAZINE.
