Ted McCann’s ‘Free Lance’ model steam engine, right,
with its usual load of kids. Fred Reckelberg’s 1923 65 HP Case
is in the background.
Dan Moehrke at the controls of his 1911 22 HP Advance. Dan’s
engines are always a pleasure to see and hear; they are in first
class shape and always have perfect governor response!
Wyman Boettcher’s 1920 20 HP Illinois engine is very rare,
being one of only 65 built, and is seen here belted to a Birdsell
clover huller, ready to thresh some baled second crop hay.
These scenes were photographed at the annual Wisconsin Steam
Antique Engine Club show at the Calumet County Fairgrounds in
Chilton, Wisconsin and were submitted by Edward A. Westen, Route 2,
Box 127, Kewaunee, Wisconsin 54216. This year’s show is August
10 and 11.
