This old farm tool measures 7 inches long. It is of steel construction with a right-hand thread on the screw and expands like an expansion jack.

I believe that is a tool for removing clamp connectors from battery posts, though it does have one pice missing. When the handle is squeezed the jaws clap on the sides of the clamp, while the center rod pushes against the top of the post to pull the clamp off. Originally it would have had a washer on the center rod to spread the surface and not push in a small point.
