I would like to commend your publication for being such a fine resource for a farm collector such as myself. My special interest in the arena of farm collectibles is old livestock signs. My ability to find old signs featuring cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, etc., was challenged by my geographical location in Georgia. Livestock signs were not often used in the South in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. I have tried many avenues for finding examples but my best resource has been a long-term advertisement in Farm Collector. It is like having a thousand ears and eyes looking for me. Your subscribers are also looking in the places where the signs are most prevalent.
With the help of your magazine I have purchased some fine examples from throughout the U.S. I have even had people call me from other countries (however, I am only interested in American-made signs). It’s been a great way to meet people with common interests.
