On Maui, visitors will tour the Maui Gold Pineapple Plantation and processing facility and on Hawaii, sightseeing includes an orchid nursery and the Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation.
A major sightseeing highlight near the Kona Coast on Hawaii is a visit to the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii, a research facility of ocean thermal energy conversion. Both warm surface and cold-deep seawater is brought together to generate electricity. One will see how “Aquaculture” has flourished as a byproduct. Nearby, sixty tons of algae are grown each week as feed for abalone at the Big Island Abalone Farm.
Other sightseeing includes Pearl Harbor; the USS Arizona Memorial; Wailua riverboat cruise; the old whaling village of Lahaina, Maui; Volcanoes National Park; Rainbow Water Falls; and a Macadamia Nut factory tour.
