Low-Profile Canadian IH Crawlers
Robert Pripps’ article on International Harvester crawler tractors produced in the Hamilton, Ontario, plant (Farm Collector, May 2019) neglected to mention the low-profile or orchard versions of the T-4, T-5, and TD-5 crawlers. These machines differ from the versions described in the article in that the exhaust, air intake, and headlights were within the hood and grille, control levers are below the hood-line and there are extended engine side panels and a lower driver’s seat.
The low-profile versions of these crawlers are extremely rare. I have a T-5, shown in these photos.
