Through grants awarded by the Canadian Council of Archives and
National Archives of Canada Arrangement and Description Backlog
Reduction Program, a collection of black and white, and colour
photographs and negatives taken by the International Harvester
Company (IHC) has been catalogued by the Ontario Agricultural
and dealerships and a wide variety of rural life scenes has been
made accessible to dealers, collectors and researchers through a
computerized system which allows you to locate negative and
pictures by subject, equipment type and make, model and year of the
implement.
This accurate record of the equipment manufactured by
International Harvester between the years 1942 and 1971 reveals
much information that will be of tremendous value to anyone
interested in the agricultural implement business, farming or rural
life.
The Museum’s Agricultural Implement Catalogue Collection,
containing service manuals, parts lists and sales brochures
compliments this extensive photographic collection. Along with
these primary sources of information our staff provides their
expertise to make the Ontario Agricultural Museum one of the best
sources of information in Canada on International Harvester and IHC
equipment.
The Ontario Agricultural Museum is 8 km west of Milton, take
Highway 401, exit 320B or 312 North.
