This will be the 17th year for the Illiana Antique Power
Association and the club is getting comfortably settled in its show
grounds outside Rainsville, Indiana. For many years the show was
held at Boswell, Indiana, and for several reasons the club moved to
its present location eight miles south of Boswell, just three miles
east of US 41.
The club has been given a 99 year lease on a beautiful ten acre
wooded tract where the club has erected a new clubhouse and
permanent restroom facilities.
The show will display antique tractors and gas engines, (the
show will feature John Deere), antique cars and trucks, a miniature
railroad offering free rides, a working blacksmith shop, threshing,
sawmilling and, of coursesteam engines!
We expect a variety of engines from different manufacturers:
Case, Minneapolis, perhaps Baker and Keck-Gonnerman. Since this is
a smaller show we encourage visitor questions and participation and
sometimes we can be talked into giving a ride on our steam
engines.
The 1998 show dates are July 16th, 17th and 18th. Lodging is
available in nearby Boswell and West Lafayette, Indiana. Come and
be a part of history!
