We read with interest the article on IH crawler tractors
(Farm Collector, January 2007). My brother has a 1930
McCormick-Deering TracTracTor. Our father bought it in the
mid-1950s from a man who used it for farming. Dad and my brothers
used it to help clear a right-of-way through our farm woods for the
electric power lines. It sat in the shed for about 45 years. The
up after all that time to take it to our local tractor show, which
featured crawler tractors that year. They removed the hood and put
on an oversized exhaust pipe while getting it started.
