This is in response to a request from John Herschberger of
Dalton, Wis., for information about John Deere buggies (Farm
Collector letters, August 2007, page 4).
According to the information I received when purchasing a
1/16-scale model of that buggy, John Deere made buggies from 1899
to 1923. According to the information provided, they made one grade
buggy was, as the name implied, “ABSOLUTE RELIABLE.” The buggy
company was apparently named “John Deere Reliance” with a logo of
RBC.
I can e-mail a copy of the documentation to any interested
persons.
