I look forward to receiving Farm Collector each
month.
Something caught my eye on page 17 of the February 2007 issue.
In the lower right corner is a picture of a Farmall owned by Rob
Bush with an “exhaust-vacuum lift.” Wouldn’t that be an
“intake-vacuum lift”?

Author Oscar H. Will III clarifies: It’s actually an
exhaust-pressure lift. There was a cut-out valve installed on the
exhaust manifold that diverted flow into the pneumatic cylinder to
pressurize it and raise the lift. It was even possible to stall the
engine if the lift or cylinder got jammed by causing too much
back-pressure.
