We are looking for information on this churn or the company that
made it. The cast iron frame reads “Franklin Churn Co. Pat.
Pending. Ser. 79928 Mf’d by CHl. Hdw. Foundry Co. North Chicago,
Ill.” It stands 9 inches tall, has two baffles on the inside and
holes in the side of the beater. A series of gears operates the
beating mechanism, which is on a spindle and can be adjusted to
raise and lower, apparently to adjust to the level of cream. The
spindle has a pointed end that rests in a depression in the base.
On top is a removable pin with tightening screw, which must be
removed to take the lid off for filling and cleaning. Any help
would be appreciated.
