After successfully putting together two Farmall Model H tractors (the Twin H) and two Farmall Model C tractors (the Twin C) I decided to try something different: a 1942 Farmall H and a 1945 John Deere B.
It was quite a challenge since the axle housing of the John Deere B is part of the main tractor. Also, the axle sizes were not the same. But the finished product can be driven and steered from either seat using either engine. It is hard to use both because of getting the right gear and engine speed to synchronize. The steering ratios of both gear boxes were different so that was a another challenge to overcome.
Like the Twin H and Twin C, this unit measures less than 8 feet to the outside of the rear wheel so you can haul it on a truck or trailer. The Twin H and Twin C have been in many shows and parades in Pennsylvania. They have been crowd-pleasers wherever they go, and I am sure the Farmall H/John Deere B combination will be also. I have yet to come up with a name for the unit and am interested in suggestions.
