On September 19-20, 1992 the LaGrange Engine Club had its annual
show at a new location, Lorain County Fairgrounds, Wellington,
Ohio. Everyone enjoyed having so much more space to display in.
Saturday morning started out very wet, as most shows did in
1992, but by noon things were drying out, and many units were
swing, which included threshing wheat with a 16 HP Minneapolis
traction and a Case separator. Straw was baled with an Ohio baler
powered by a John Deere GP tractor. The saw mill was in operation
both days sawing basswood and oak for lumber to build a barn.
Various steamers were belted to the sawmill, and at times two
Bakers were hooked in tandem on the mill. After minor governor
adjustments, the two units barked out in unison.
Gas engine row was larger than ever; there were lots of
different makes displayed, and most were running. On Sunday
afternoon an exhibitors’ antique tractor pull was run, and as
everyone seemed to enjoy it, it will be an annual event at our
show. Also on Sunday P.M. a machinery parade was held. The
spectators enjoyed it very much.
Many thanks to all who displayed equipment, and to vendors and
spectators who attended. Hope to see you all September 18 and 19,
1993 at Lorain County Fairgrounds for a bigger and better LaGrange
Engine Club Show.
