The second annual reunion of the Loyalsock Valley Antique
Machinery Assn., Inc. was held August 4, 5, and 6, 1989 at the
Lycoming County Consolidated Sports mans Grounds. The show had been
advertised as ‘Bigger and Better Than Ever,’ and that’s
just what it was. We nearly doubled our exhibitors from our first
There were 167 antique tractors, 325 gas, steam, and hit &
miss engines, 58 antique cars and trucks (including antique
military vehicles), four steam engines (including an Oil Pull and
steam roller), antique fire truck, and several teams of horses.
Various demonstrations took place throughout the weekend. They
included an antique sawmill and shingle mill working, antique
thrashing machine in operation, stationary baler demo, and a
teeter-totter demo. Other daily events included equipment parades,
antique tractors in operation, gasoline engines in operation,
tractor pulls, hayrides, bale rolling contest for the kids, and a
horseshoe tournament.
A flea market, toy tractor display, Indian pow-wow, and
kids’ contests rounded out the show activities. We all had a
great time and hope to see you at our third annual show on August
3, 4, and 5, 1990.
