Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. –The Gold Coast Railroad is planning to
hold their 5th annual Exposition of Steam in connection with the
completion of their new Passenger Station located in Snyder Park.
The Steam Exposition has been a yearly affair since 1962, but was
omitted in ’66 & ’67 while the Railroad was being moved
Features of the Show will include working models &
full-sized engine of all types, including a 1909 Steam Traction
engine, model Steam Road Roller, Locomotives, Marine &
Stationary Steam Engines, Pumps, Pile Drivers, and many other
interesting examples of the past ‘Era of Steam’. An antique
‘Stanley Steamer’ Automobile, beautifully restored, is also
expected to participate in the Show.
All persons owning full size or model Steam Engine of any type
are invited to bring them to the show and place them on exhibit.
Our famous Steam Locomotive No. 153, will be used to furnish steam
& Compressed air for operating the exhibits. The public is
cordially invited to attend this unique event, which will be held
Nov. 23rd, from 11:00 A.M., to 5:00 P.M. Admission is free to all.
The location is 811 S.W. 34th St., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (S.W.
9th Ave., & Airport Perimeter Road).
The Gold Coast Railroad, sponsor of this event, is a non-profit,
volumteer organization featuring real Steam Train Rides for the
public every Sunday afternoon from 1-5 P.M. The former Presidential
Car ‘Ferdinand Magellan’, and our Museum Car are also
