Bob Johnson, of Rossville, Ga., is working on a commission from
the Smithsonian Institution to help duplicate much of the machinery
that was shown at the philadelphia Centennial of 1876.
The Smithsonian plans to use several of Johnson’s restored
steam engines and steam. operated machines, according to a dispatch
by the Associated Press. His steam-operated machines include an
more complex.
Johnson operates the ‘Whistles in the Woods’ museum near
Ringgold. We hope to have a more extensive article about him, with
pictures, in a later issue.
