Plan on coming to see an extraordinary collection of early day
steam engines and their history come alive during the 1995 Roots of
Motive Power Festival at the Mendocino County Museum in Willits,
California. Featured in operation at the September 9 and 10 show
will be a Bucyrus Erie 50B steam shovel, Dolbeer logging donkeys, a
Steel Simplex yarder, ex-Raymond Concrete and Pile FF400 Steam
Crane-pile drive, and numerous stationary engines, all under steam.
Tours of rail road equipment undergoing restoration, including two
trucks Climax, C/N 1621 (ex-Holmes Eureka Lumber Company #4), and
California Western Railroad #14, a 2-6-2 tank engine, will be
conducted by Roots of Motive Power members.
We invite collectors to bring their early day gas engines,
tractors and other old iron and join us. For more information and
