Mr. Oswald Steinmeyer of Fenton, Missouri passed away December
29, 1968. He was a lover of steam engines and well known around the
steam shows. He had help to restore several engines. Sent in by Mr.
Emmet H. Drewel, Labachie, Missouri.
Edward A. Schmidt, 77 of Correl Minnesota passed away on
November 30, 1968. Mr. Schmidt was born in Akron Township, February
years but was engaged in farming up to the time of his death. He
and his brothers held the ‘Akron Township Threshing Bee’
for eight years. Surviving are his wife and two brothers. Sent in
by Mr. E.G. Rose, Benson, Minnesota.
Mr. Albert Erbele, 66, of Lehr, North Dakota passed away August
24, 1968, after a brief illness. He had a nice collection of
antiques. Sent in by Teddy B. Erbele and family.
John Achey of Dresser, Wisconsin passed away October 16, 1968.
He was well known as the founder and first president of the Early
Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. He was also instrumental in
putting on a show at Dresser, Wisconsin each fall. He owned a nice
collection which he showed at Dresser. Sent in by Mr. Holland E.

Mr. Wade E. Marshall, 80, of Brookville, Ohio passed away August
3, 1968. He farmed until the age of 54 then worked in shop for 10
years before retiring. He enjoyed being around and firing steam
engines. Sent in by Clark Davidson, Gordon, Ohio.
